Looking for a few good questions
I'll be having an on-stage conversation with Jonathan Schwartz of Sun Microsystems at Syndicate tomorrow morning. So I'm looking for some help with questions. Especially as they relate to the theme of the show, which is syndication.
Blogging chief executives are a rare breed, and Jonathan is among the best of them. He's also a very bright guy with original takes on a lot of subjects.
For a sample, here's an excellent podcast of an interview of Jonathan several months back, by Quentin Hardy of Forbes. And here's Jonathan's blog post about it. And here's a nice piece by Jim Grisanzio about one point Jonathan makes in it.
What I'm looking for are questions that will elicit insights. Got any?
In fact, if you have any questions for anybody at Syndicate, how about syndicating those, with a tag? Here ya go: SyndicateQNA. Your posts will show up here, as well as in my aggregator.

London
Police have carried out a controlled explosion on a vehicle at the hospital treating a suspect in the attack on Scotland's busiest airport. Officers also made a fifth arrest in the airport attack and a foiled car bomb plot in London.

Directory servers
What's the Samba integration story on the directory server that Sun is planning to open source as part of Sun Java Enterprise System? Will a customer be able to roll out an all-Sun-supported, all-open-source solution on the server side for customers with Microsoft clients, or will the 2004 Sun/Microsoft agreement mean that there are CALs of some kind on the invoice for those mixed Solaris/Windows networks?
Many people don't understand Sun's participation in the SCOSource program and investment in The SCO Group, since Sun bought out its Unix contract from Novell in 1994. Does any Sun product actually use the code covered by the SCOSource program?
With regard to software patents, is Sun going to be a Libya, which recently gave up its WMD programs, or an Iran?
